Facebook in India has a number as 9232232665. It’s a little difficult to understand but in reality it’s very simple. For example if you break it down to the eight digits at the end of the phone number are actually spelt as facebook.

So, when you want to dial facebook India’s number simply dial 92facebook using any standard keypad of any mobile phone or even a landline phone and your call or message will reach facebook CEO Mark Zukerberg’s server.

What do these phone numbers spell?

When you are in the process of buying a new phone number or mobile number from a telecom provider. The telecom provider will provide you instantly with a series of number for you to choose from. The general trend is to go with numerical patterns such as – 3399 (double digits), 5678 (sequences), 6842 (odd or even combinations) – but your choices are not limited to these, you can go for something more memorable perhaps your name or the name of your city, maybe even a famous brand. Sometimes its difficult to find out the memorable words, phrases or maybe abbreviations that are usually hidden inside some complicated phone numbers. All these sites work the same. All you need to do is to punch in a phone number and the site’s services will spell out all the different words and phrases your phone number spells as. With the new free Google Voice service you are now able to send text messages and make calls from your own home or office computer or your mobile phone.

Since Google Voice is not an invitation only service any longer, you’ll need to be in the United States (with a US based I.P. address) and you should also have a local US phone number to activate your Google Voice number.

How to use Google Voice if you are a Non-US national living outside the US? 

I am now going to give you a workaround that will enable you to enable Google Voice anywhere outside the USA. I use Google Voice in India but it’s the same procedure for other countries as well.

Step 1: Get a US Phone Number. This easy process will not take more than five minutes to complete.

Step 2: Please download and install Hotspot Shield (make sure you do not accept the toolbar option). This is necessary since you cannot sign-in to your Google Voice account from a non-US I.P. address.

Step 3: Start Hotspot Shield and then go to IP₂Location to confirm that it says your location is in the “United States”.  If it does not then disconnect your Hotspot Shield session and reconnect to get a new I.P. address.

Step 4: Launch “Express Talk” software (you would have downloaded this software in Step 1 Get a US Phone Number).

Step 5: Open voice.google.com in your preferred web browser and sign in using your Google credentials. You may get an error message that states- “Google Voice is not available in your country”- Clear your preferred browser cookies and try again.

5a: Its time to choose a Google Voice phone number for yourself. Please enter a US area code and any one word to get a phone number you can remember or pick one from the numerous available choices.

5b: Think of a four digit voicemail pin you can remember, accept the Terms and continue.

5c: In the next screen enter your previously selected local US number that will ring when somebody dials your Google Voice number.

5d: Click “call me now”. Once Google Voice calls this number your Express Talk Software should automatically ring. Enter the confirmation code by using the dial pad of the Express Talk software installed and when it is verified you are ready to use your Google Voice phone number.

How to Get a US Phone Number

How to get a local phone number in the USA.

In this tutorial I am going to tell you how to get your own local US phone number without spending a penny.

Once you have your local US number your relatives and friends will be able to dial your number from their own landlines without paying high international dialing rates.

I shall explain to you how to get your own local US number step by step.

Step 1: Get your own account with callcentric.com. Please press continue. Callcentric will send a confirmation email to you to verify your email address.

Step 2: Verify your email address via the confirmation email sent to you and then provide your city and country code. Click “agree to the terms and conditions” and then click “Sign me up”.

Step 3: Callcentric will try to give you a virtual tour of their websites. Skip that and try going to “Go to my Callcentric”. The next screen that will appear will list your callcentric number in the format of 1777**-copy this number to the clipboard.

Step 4: Open a new browser and go to this website- phone.ipkall.com. Choose the account type as SIP and paste the callcentric number from the clipboard you copies to earlier, into the field that should say “Sip Username”. Enter the username as in.callcentric.com and type in the same email address and password you used earlier when you set up your callcentric account.

Step 5: With a few minutes you should receive an email from ipkall.com with your new local phone number. Keep the email secure as you will need it when you will configure the SIP client.

Step 6: Since you now have a local US number lets get down to activating it.

6a: Click on this link and download and install ExpressTalk on your PC. The trail version is good enough for us for now. 

Please don’t install any of the other optional stuff like toolbars and so on during the setup.

6b: During installation choose only the default options in all the wizard screens.

6c: When you reach on the “SIP setup” page select “Yes, I already have an SIP account” click next. Enter all the SIP details gathered in step 4 above and finish the setup.

6d: Check the setup page if it is complete go back to the “my callcentric page” and refresh it. You should see a message “your phone is registered”. That’s about it!
